Your Guide to Watching Arsenal in the Greater Toronto Area

From downtown Toronto to York, and the suburbs of Durham and Mississauga, here is where you can find your local Arsenal community on matchday in the Greater Toronto Area.

Being an Arsenal supporter in Canada often means rising early and starting matchdays with a nervous coffee. It brings a unique camaraderie that only comes from waking up at 7:00 AM to cheer on the mighty Gunners. Whilst watching from the comfort of your living room certainly has some perks, nothing beats the atmosphere of a packed pub in the morning singing "North London Forever" with fellow supporters.

If you’re a Gooner in the GTA, and trading the comfort of your sofa for a barstool on match weekends sounds like your thing, the Toronto area is home to some of the most passionate Arsenal branches in North America. Whether you are in downtown Toronto, Mississauga, Durham, or York, there is a local branch calling your name and we’re here to give you the full run down on where to head to in each area of the GTA.

1. Toronto:

The Toronto Branch is one of the largest and most active in Canada. Due to the city being so spread out, they have strategically partnered with multiple pubs to ensure fans across the city have a local spot:

  • Midtown / Central: Gatherings Resto Bar (49 St. Clair Ave W) - A multi-level pub that’s perfect for the central crowd, especially for the big games, with plenty of screens, draught beer, and breakfast options a-plenty.

  • Downtown: Saint Johns Tavern (117 John St) -  this place is the new go-to for Gooners in the downtown core. It offers a cozy, welcoming, atmosphere with some great traditional British and Irish pub food on the menu - alongside a solid beer selection. Not to be missed when looking to catch a game downtown.

  • Pizza Rustica (37 Blue Jays Way) - The clue’s in the name for this one, just down the road from Rogers Stadium with plenty of screens for fans to enjoy the game whilst enjoying one of Italy's best exports.

  • West End: The Dock Ellis (1280 Dundas St W) -  A "hipster sports bar" vibe with a top atmosphere, great food, pool tables and shuffleboard making it a favourite for the Arsenal community in Little Portugal.

  • East End: Fox on Danforth (535 Danforth Ave) - Serving Canadian Gunners fans in the east-end Greektown, Riverdale, Leslieville communities, the Fox on Danforth delivers a classic pub experience with plenty of screens and some good pub-grub.

2. Mississauga

West of the city, the Mississauga Branch (Sauga Gooners) has established a fortress at the Drake and Firkin. It’s a community known for its welcoming vibe, perfect for families and die-hard fans alike who want to escape the downtown trek.

  • Where: Drake and Firkin, 6982 Financial Drive, Mississauga.

3. Durham Region

For fans in Oshawa, Pickering, Whitby, and Ajax, the Durham Region Branch has been going strong for nearly a decade. They meet for every single match, bringing the spirit of N5 to Hardy John’s in Oshawa. If you live east of the city, this is arguably the most dedicated group you’ll find!

  • Where: Hardy John’s Bar & Grill, 50 Taunton Rd E, Oshawa.

4. York Region

If you’re based in the north of the city, the York Region Branch gathers at VMV's Bar & Grill in North York. It is a growing community that serves fans from Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and Markham who want a centralised location with great food and passionate company.

  • Where: VMV's Bar & Grill, 4207 Keele St, North York.

5. Markham Region

Fans in Markham can head to historic Main Street and the Duchess of Markham to catch Arsenal games in a cozy, local pub setting. This pub has plenty of big screens and great hearty pub grub - making it a top venue for Arsenal supporters in the area to catch the games.

  • Where: The Duchess of Markham, 43 Main Street Markham N, Markham, ON

6. Milton

For Gunners in Milton, you'll find fellow fans cheering together at the local Boston Pizza. Like any BP’s you’ll be guaranteed some classic domestic beer choices, lots of screens and obviously.. Pizza (who doesn’t love eating pizza for breakfast).

  • Where: Boston Pizza Milton (1085 Maple Ave, Milton, ON L9T 0A5)

Why Watch with a Local Branch?

Beyond the atmosphere, watching with an official branch supports Arsenal Canada and offers the opportunity to get to know fellow Arsenal fans - solidifying the community here across Canada. These pubs often offer discounts to Arsenal fans on matchdays and host special events for big games like the North London Derby or cup finals.
