Thank you Arsenal Canada members and friends for making this our most successful year in my tenure, maybe ever. We have around 80 members this year and we sold out of Arsenal Canada t-shirts. We will be doing another batch and starting work early on next year’s membership pack. I still struggle with getting them out on time, and desperately need assistance with this for next season. If you want to volunteer, please message me at morgan@arsenalcanada.ca
We applied for 54 tickets this year. We are waiting on confirmation for Manchester United, but we have been successful on all applications in the three years that I have been involved as chair/co-chair. 18 different people applied for tickets for themselves and often a family member. 10 members are going to the Reading match and we managed to send 6 people to the Chelsea match at the Emirates!
We broke last year’s record for group order sales, not by much, but we beat it. We successfully levied Arsenal FC and got our discount restored in the form of a VAT exemption. We just completed our last group order for the year. As Arsenal prepare for new stock I have learned that items for order in the spring could be limited this year. There might be a late season group order, but wait for an announcement before assuming we will do another one. Before any rumours surface, we are still affiliated with Nike for next season; beyond that is uncertain.
I desperately need help for next season administratively and especially in key markets (Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal). Vancouver is in great shape and members of Vancouver Arsenal want to work collaboratively, which is fantastic. In Toronto we have had phenomenal success in our partnership with the Fox and Fiddle (@FoxOnYonge), and Vancouver has been tremendously successful with Phatters Sports Bar (@PHAT_Yaletown).
I really desperately need a volunteer for next year. It will be my fourth year in charge (third on my own), and it is a lot of work. We are soon going to grow beyond what I can handle on my own.
I am looking for help with the production and distribution of membership packs.
I need someone to help chat with bars in other cities to get them involved.
If someone is an expert on twitter it would be great if we could get control of @arsenalcanada

We will be launching our new website in the coming months. I want to make sure we’ve tested every link, all of the security, and got everything set up before sharing it publicly. It takes time, plus we are waiting on the funds to pay for it.

The 2012-13 Arsenal Canada membership is now open.
For the membership this year you are receiving:
an Arsenal Canada membership card (required when retrieving tickets to matches)
an Arsenal Canada t-shirt (S-XXL)
access to group orders with Arsenal FC/Arsenal Direct (process is being modified by Arsenal Canada, more information will be posted as it is agreed with Arsenal FC)
participation in our prized Fantasy games (EPL Fantasy League, EPL I Know The Score, Champions League Fantasy League, Season Long).

This morning we had discussions with the Director of Retail, Nick Peel, from Arsenal FC. We discussed the impact of the removal of the discount, VAT that has not been removed at Point-of-Sale, and shipping discounts to Canada. He gave assurances that he would get back to us early next week. If we are able to provide additional offerings to the membership we will gladly do so.

Dear Arsenal Canada members
It is with disappointment that we advise you that Arsenal FC has withdrawn the discount for supporters clubs with Arsenal Home Shopping. This was done to provide equal access and pricing to Arsenal Home Shopping for all fans, registered or otherwise.
Arsenal Canada will continue to conduct group orders, but after this last order the discount will no longer be available.
We will be exploring alternate measures and will of course take suggestions from our members on how to serve you best.
Arsenal Canada will be sending in a group order on April 27th at 4pm. If you wish to participate please email your order to Morgan Rubes, god_moe@hotmail.com Your order should include the name, code, size, colour, quantity, and full retail price as listed on the website. Please note that if Arsenal does not have that size they will not ship an alternate size. Members are responsible for their proportionate share of the shipping fees and any customs fees incurred (if applicable). Late orders will not be accepted.

UPDATED WITH NEW FORMS AND DETAILS
Arsenal Canada is pleased to offer the Arsenal Canada Experience. This trip is what we hope you think is a complete football experience. We are finalizing the stadium tours and times. The reserve fixture may change, depending on the change we may have a match against the local Arsenal supporters club or shift around. Newcastle have also not confirmed if the game is being held at St. James’ Park or Whitley Park.
Deposits will be due when Air Canada requires group flights to be booked, or when ticket requests need to be placed with Arsenal, whichever comes first.
We are also looking into Commemorative shirts for the trip. They will be kits in the same style of Arsenal with similar colours, but with your name, number and Arsenal Canada on the kits (we need kits for the 1-2 matches we will play while over there). Please send me your preferred number and size (send me your second choice number too). If two people have the same number, preference will be given to the person who reigstered for the trip first.

UEFA Champions League just opened up.
Scoring for the Arsenal Canada league will commence in Gameweek 2 (September 27).
Please make sure your team is entered on the website by that date so that you do not fall behind.
The last date to be eligible for first half and overall prizing is October 9. Please make sure your membership dues are paid today.
Dues paid after October 9 are eligible for second half prizing (the start of the elimination rounds).
